 More Curious Facts:

  • Wendy has cheated death 3 times.  The first time was paradoxically at birth.   She miraculously survived despite being deprived of oxygen for over 20 minutes.  Consequently as an infant she was more or less written off as ‘backward’ by her teachers.  But then she discovered she had a gift for athletics and as a teenager she competed at County level as a Sprinter.
  • In 1995 complications following major surgery triggered a Near Death Experience and a strange encounter ‘on the other side’.
  • In 1996 she was peacefully minding her own business in a shop, when a runaway car crashed through the plate glass window – she walked away without a scratch.
  • Her Great Grandfather William Worboys spent most of his career as a Train Driver on the Flying Scotsman - the most famous steam train in the world.  On 30th November 1934 he took this historic train into the record books, when it became first steam train ever to travel at over 100 mph
  • Wendy’s Grandfather Captain Harold Quick skippered the Marconi Research Vessel the Elettra  II on it’s voyages around the North Sea during the 1960′s. Both the  Elettra I and Elettra II yachts were used as test beds and demonstrations for equipment designed by MWT/Marconi Communications Marine Development Group.
  • Never one to shy away from a challenge, Wendy abseiled down a waterfall, and a 110 ft office block for charity in 2007
