Here’s How A Billionnaire Makes A Decision…
I had the rare privelege to talk to Keith Cunningham the other day. Keith is the founder of’ The Keys To The Vault’ and is a highly respected Business Mentor.
I was given the opportunity to ask him a question on the phone line from London to Hawaii last weekend at Dan Bradbury’s Top Gun Super Coaching Conference. My question to Keith was:-
If you had to make a difficult choice, or make a major decision what strategy do you employ?
His answer was as follows:
He is a big believer in using his intellect and less in using his intuiton. Unless your intuition is based on past experiences.
It is important to establish a set of rules and values by which you live your life
Sit and think about what your values are and to base your choices on that
Think about and imagine the person you aim to become
Future pace your thinking – what would that person then choose to do?
Create multiple choices for yourself. Freedom is a state of mind – you need a minimum of three choices, not two. One choice is slavery, two is a dilemma and three represents freedom. Give yourself more options.
Take yourself out the middle of the equation
Think on paper. The mind is not made to hold ideas trapped inside – you need to write it down.
He is also a big believer in Coaches and that we don’t have to be the lone ranger solving problems alone.
Talk to someone you trust and have confidence in
Brainstorm with other people to solve the problem
Identify what the core problem is rather than attacking the symptoms because…
If you have a problem, is that really the problem or is that problem only a symptom? In reality is there is an underlying problem causing this symptomn to show up in your life? It’s important to get clear and address the core issue.
I tell you I was writing like fury as he gave me his answer. I hope you find this useful.
